Kiosk Manager – St Kilda Pier Kiosk
We’re looking for a hands-on, high-energy Kiosk Manager to lead one of Melbourne’s most iconic waterfront venues.
The St Kilda Pier Kiosk is fast-paced, high-volume, and weather-driven. On sunny days, we fly. This role isn’t for someone who wants to “supervise” from the sidelines — we need a leader who thrives in service, builds strong teams, and keeps standards sharp when the pressure’s on.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
Leading from the front during peak service
Managing a large casual team (training, rostering, performance)
Driving fast, efficient service without compromising quality
Stock control, ordering, and cost management
Maintaining presentation and cleanliness standards
Delivering genuine, warm customer service — even in 35-degree chaos
You’ll Bring
Proven hospitality management experience (high-volume essential)
Strong leadership presence — calm, clear, decisive
Financial understanding (wages, COGS, margins)
Ability to build culture, not just fill shifts
Availability across weekends, holidays, and peak seasons

Perched at the end of St Kilda Pier, the St Kilda Pier Kiosk sits suspended between skyline and sea. Reached by a long timber walk over Port Phillip Bay, it feels like a small coastal outpost just far enough from Melbourne to let the salt air take over. The building is modest and weathered, shaped by wind and sun. Gulls circle overhead, waves slap the pylons below, and the smell of coffee, hot chips and sunscreen hangs in the breeze. On summer days, lines of beachgoers and cyclists spill down the pier; in winter, it’s quieter — takeaway coffees warming cold hands as the bay turns steel-grey. It’s simple, unpretentious and democratic. Ice creams for kids, quick bites for walkers, a caffeine stop before heading back along the shore. At sunset, the kiosk glows against amber water, and beyond it the little penguins return to the rocks. More than just a café, it’s a ritual stop — a place to pause, face the horizon, and feel the edge of the city soften into open water.
